I take D3 which helps a good bit as well as fish oil with omega-3.
Like Jorg, I realized a long time ago I would never be a pro player but I'm a pretty darn good tech.
Been Away for A While
Re: Been Away for A While
I take fish oil and various other supplements but turmeric doesn't agree with me. I had an old pharmacist friend about 35 years ago that told me about sugar and joint issues. I used to get painful knots on my wrists if I ate too much refined sugar and I learned I could control it.
To be fair, my arthritis isn't really the main villain here. It affects my knees mostly, fingers not as much. About 10 yrs ago or so, I tore something in my left thumb but never could get it properly diagnosed.
I knew it wasn't completely torn so I kept it immobilized for a while and it ended up getting a little better. I then spoke with another doctor friend of mine (I work in hospitals) and he gave me a cortisone shot in it. It continued improving and I consider it 95% but it does get fatigued faster than I like.
I'll will say that having to find alternate ways of playing has made me a better player. I'm still not quite professional level but...

Omega 3-6-9, Krill oil, D3 yes, all good stuff, plus a bunch of other miscellaneous supplements and meds, mostly for my heart and blood pressure (I had a stroke in 2012 that also contributed to screwing up left hand coordination, thank you so much mother nature!)
But my absolute best remedy is Wobenzym an anti inflammatory enzyme compound which I was using for years. It knocked out the knee pain and reduced the pain in my joints to the level of occasional discomfort. An amazing non toxic, non addictive naturally based product.
You'll note I put this in the past tense. As of approximately Feb of this year the world wide supply of Wobenzym has completely disappeared! Can't get the darn stuff anywhere, and I can't get a definitive explanation for it other than "supply chain issues" and "manufacturing capacity" short fall! It's bloody frustrating.
I've had to make do with a similar but not equivalent enzyme product called Serrapeptase plus some Bromelain , coupled with Acetaminophen for the hips which are now giving me hell going upstairs and even on daily walks. Sucks.

Barry, Wobenzym is available on Amazon. I see in the comments that people are happy it's back. I'll have to give this a try. I've tried many supps in my life in my search for the fountain of youth. It's as elusive to me as Van Halen's Hot For Teacher is on guitar MSM can help with connective tissue also. It's inexpensive.

Re: Been Away for A While
Thanks but that is only available in the US, does not ship to Canada. I was getting mine from Amazon.ca then it disappeared.
However, I note that there is one company offering some now. It is exactly the right formula I want BUT the problem is:
It's 480 tabs for $474.95!!
And, there's only 5 left in stock!
Not gonna happen.
