Re: Lyle Trini Lopez
Looks to be in good shape.
I don't know what the attraction is for the diamond shaped sound holes holes and the Firebird style head stock, but it seems to drive up the price of what is otherwise an unremarkable 335 model. I guess it's the Dave Grohl effect?

Re: Lyle Trini Lopez
Purely aesthetics. There was a Barney Kessel model with pointed horns.

Re: Lyle Trini Lopez
I doubt that most folks these days would know who Barney was. I guess if Grohl had chosen his model it would have become the expensive reissue instead.

Re: Lyle Trini Lopez
Trini predates Grohl by quite a few years.
Here's the Gibson version of the copy listed.

Re: Lyle Trini Lopez
1968 was the year I got married to my first wife at the tender age of 23.
And, I think if I look through my LP records, I'll find one of Barney Kessel's in the Jazz section. I was following as much jazz as R&B in those days, still do.
Liked his playing. That guitar design, not so much.
