I wouldn't be so sure about that... at least in Japan there were some of those.Barry wrote:Matsumoku ended business in 1987 and didn't make SG clones.

Re: Aria Pro II Strikin' Sound -1979 (CAN)
My tinnitus is thanks to a drummer, who thought it's fun to beat his crash when my ears are closest to it. This happened while we were setting up (not even sound check or actually playing)... whatever he thought he's doing. Anyway, his crash was exactly 1800 Hz... since 30 years I don't hear ...

Re: Un-Branded LP - Similar to Ibanez 2398
I bought my first electric guitar in a small music shop in Wiesbaden (Germany)... a Cimar Strat copy. I confirmed a couple of years ago, that the guitar was made by Fujigen. Actually my first three electric guitars were made by Fujigen... but then I always wanted to have a PE-R80....

The price is very good considering that they don't show up too often: CAD$475 -No case. No mention of shipping. LINK : https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1691658812 What people consider cheap these days... :o If it comes to modified guitars in odd shapes... how about this one: https ...

Your guess is as good as anyone... could have been any of the Japanese factories.
The piece of wood on the pickguard doesn't look to be original and might have been added later.

Re: Not sure exactly what model Cardinal
Actually the DC-127 is currently the most played guitar I have. I could go on how well it plays and how good it sounds... but main reason is that it's stored in a convenient location to take it out... Anyway, you would have to change the pickups... I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like the ones I ...

Re: Not sure exactly what model Cardinal
My wife and me have an agreement, as long as it stays within one room, she's OK with it. There is actually a little room left in that room (not much), but my guitar hoarding from the past is not justifiable on any account. Simply put, I haven't played most of the guitars in this room in years... but ...

Re: Not sure exactly what model Cardinal
I always tell myself, that I don't buy another guitar, until I sell at least five of my current inventory. But since I don't want to give them away for nothing at a local shop... and my trial eBay experience was just annoying (answer dozens of questions during the running time of the listing and end ...

Re: Source to buy an 80s Pro II die cast bass bridge?
The current SB re-issues use a Gotoh 404BO-4 bridge, that looks a bit different from what is on the old SBs.
The previous SB re-issue used a Gotoh J510BO-4 bridge and that should fit better looks wise.
However, both bridges are shorter than the old bridge on the SB, so the change would be visible.

I stopped it... bought my last guitar a long time ago (just checked the year was 2015).Barry wrote:Yep. It's a disease I tells ya!
